I am thinking about buying a 2001 Saab 9-5 with a V-6. It has 150k miles, but is in perfect shape, drives great and is only $3000. Does anyone own one of these? Do you think it will last another 50k miles if I maintain it properly? Please only answer if you own a similar Saab.
Thank you!

Many of the early cars into the mid years can be electronic nightmares. I got my daughter a 2000 with mid (65k), miles two years ago and it has been in for some very expensive items in a short time ... "flow meter" on the intake was like $800 and the whole electronics package for the dash went last month. I think she got the guy down to $1,500 but the last few months have cost her quite a bit of money. New tires and thing like that I expected and to her credit she did keep up on the oil.
Be wary of some cars since there was a ....... sludging problem .... on some years that was causing engine failure. Check with a few other forurms (even the Euro ... when I bought the car I knew what to look for and what to avoid.
Oh yeah, something with the heater flap that keeps the air up or down gets jammed and the dash or glove have to come out.

dont ever buy a v6...too much trouble and too much maintenance.
a 4-cylinder car is much more exciting anyway, much more torque, and if you really do want power stop playing games and get a v8.
v6's are just a hassle, keep a constant eye on your water level cause they drink more than an AA member and if they run low on water...it hurts the wallet more than having a materialistic girlfriend with a sweet p**sy
