Saab 9-5 engine light on then stalls.?

Recently my Saab 9-5,after driving for a period of time the check engine light comes on and the car cuts out and will not start.
When the car is left for maybe half an hour the car then starts again but only manages a short distance before the check engine light comes on again and the car cuts out.
Any ideas what the problem may be?

Please let me know the mileage on the car. Most probably it is your fuel pump. Have it checked and then replaced.
