How to deactivate security system on a 98 saab 9000?

Basically the alarm is activated and my car thinks its being stolen. If you try and start it the alarm oes off, it's disabled the ignition & the fuel pump & pretty much everything. To deactivate it you're supposed to use the button on the key but mine doesn't work anymore, are there any other ways to fix it? Please help!

Put your key in the drivers door.

Turn the key to the lock position twice, as in two individual times.

Turn the key back to the unlock position once to unlock drivers door, then again to unlock all the doors.

Get in and try to start the vehicle. The above procedure should de-activate the security without the remote.

If the above does not work, you should disconnect the negative battery terminal with all doors unlocked for five minutes, then reconnect the battery terminal and try to start.
