I have fault 1109 on my 2004 Saab 9-3 Linear which causes my car to go into limp home mode. If I switch it off and on again , put it in manual and thrash it for a while the engine management light goes off and everything is fine for a couple of days and then the problem starts again. Anybody help and if so any ideas how much the remedy might cost me ?

reprogram ECU with latest software. Check for vacuum leaks, remove and clean throttle body and put it back, check catalytic converter. Check head gasket too. Put some fuel injector cleaner in the fuel tank. Hope after all this it should be fine.

Check all the vacuum hoses and tubes. Also check the evaporative system tubes and hoses, as some of them are connected to the intake tube to the Turbo charger.
Is there excessive boost at times? May have too much boost especially when the engine is cold. Check that and adjust accordingly.
This type of problem can easily be check by Tech II and remedied fairly quickly.
