I drive a 1989 Saab 900 turbo and the brakes squeak when I apply them. How can

I fix this? The sound is not to schrill but loud enough - the harder I apply the brakes the louder the sound.

Thanks for all that responded. My mechanic checked it out and my front, left side brake pad was worn and there was some slight metal on metal contact.

I am replacing both rotors and brake pads in the front.

Sounds like metal on metal again, check those inside pads! Hurry though or you will be replacing/resurfacing rotors too. If you car is eatting brake pads, make sure you do not have a collapsed brake line and/or ungreased caliper slides.
