You don't state if you are buying from private party or dealer. According to Kelly Blue Book www.kbb.com, the suggested retail price (and you don't state if 2dr or 4dr, hatchback or convertible, 5 speed or automatic) for a 98 Saab 900S 4dr hatchback in excellent condition is $3675.

Other considerations are..depending on what state you live in, insurance could be high because the car is over 10 years old and parts/labor are going to be expensive due to the age of the vehicle. You might want to put that money into a down payment on a newer vehicle.

According to what I found on Cars.com the price is good. Check it out for yourself.
