Default 2003 Saab 9-5 Transmission overheating

I have a 2003 Saab 9-5 V6 3.0 turbo with 125k on it. It has an automatic transmission. The problem with the car is that the car drives perfectly when you first start it up, but after 20 minutes of driving the transmission light and check engine light turn on at the same time. I did a flush, and then I had the transmission replaced. Same problem. When the light turns on the transmission starts to shift very rough. I need some help. Any ideas?

Check it with the dealer? When was the last time you have gone for servicing?

Hello, I seem to be having the same problem with mine. Mine is a 2001 95 SE. Im in the process of figuring this out. I personally think that it has to be an electrical issue. Because if I drive the car on the highway/freeway, it runs great. Only when i drive it around the city on stop and go traffic and after about 30 mins from the time I last stopped the car for several hours. Like overnight. I will keep you posted if I find out the problem...and you do the same please.

Any luck yet. I Just bought a 1998 model 9-5SE yesterday. Car was fine when I did the test drive and all the way back home on the highway. However after 20 min in city driving I got the same problem. I am not very technical, but could it not be a defaulting oil cooler? All was fine this morning after it cooled down but I decided not to drive it in case it happens again and something gets damaged.
