Default Non-Dealer Maintanance

I'm kinda worried my local dealer is overcharging and possibly over-servicing my car. Does anyone have experience with independent service centers with their Saabs? Can I trust that independents would be able to propery diagnose and service my car? (2005 9-5)

if you ask them questions that they dont know how to answer, then find someone else. Saab Specialists know EXACTLY what you're talking about...

where are you from?

Default Nnnnnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

just go to the original dealer dude...the others will charge you more or less the same as they would anyway, I've tried more than one. the original will also do things for free that the others would charge you for because they want you too come back.

Did my major service at a non-orig and changed my chains at the orig.

Major service ended up being about $50 less than from the original cause they found all these things that I could wait to do but just made more sense to do now, not in their words but if it goes it just costs from common sense. they'll charge for fault finding, they'll charge an obsene amount for labour...etc

said no to most of their crap by the way...

chains done by saab...

did chains, rebuilt bottom and top end, acid dipped block and changed something that had something to do with the air-fuel mixture...got charged what I was quoted for just the chains.

cause you see when they do the chain they jack the car and drop the entire drive train, motor and box and pull the entire thing apart, inspect and clean and repair if needed, ask them how long it would take to do the chains and they allow at least 3days, which usually means 4-5. It only takes an afternoon to do chains.

Go with the original, they'll give you free honest advice because not only do they not need your business as they have so many people bringing their newer saab's to them, but they want you too only use them.

you'll get quoted a few bucks less but will always end up about the same, otherwise it'll be shit which I've also had...
