Default Power Increase

The best way to add power for your car, without increasing the turbo size or internal build, would be to purchase a Nordic ECU tune from Genuinesaab.com. Becuase the Saab has an electronically controlled external wastegate, instead of an external spring actuated wastegate, the spring within the wastegate cant be changed to increase boost. The Trionic 8 (Your Car) has a strict computer that puts the car into "limp mode" which shuts off fuel and brings down the power and RPM's when you try to increase boost improperly. The Nordic tune increases boost slightly and re-times the motor so you can get 250 vs 210 horsepower, and increase your torque from 221 to 275 pound feet. The Nordic tune is $599 and it WILL be noticeable. It takes about 3 days total to get the tune. You need to remove your ECU, which is simple, and mail it in. The ECU is reflashed to the desired Stage and then remailed to you. You just reinstall it and you have an instant power boost.

This mod is a bit pricey if you were just looking at opening up the wastegate and playing around, but its safer, and cheaper than ANY other tuner or series of mods. BSR also makes a tuner for the car, but it isnt as efficent for power increases and it costs $300 dollars more.

Any questions, just let me know. I have the nordic tune and the Stage 4 package on my 05' 9-3 and i love it. Ive used the BSR in the past but unless you have an 06' or newer AERO edition with the 2.8T, it isnt worth the extra cash.

Hope that helps.
