Default Power, wiring to SID in 2002 9-5?

Hi, I’m writing re. the SID2 in my partner’s 2002 9-5. Her SID has two problems. One is missing pixels; I’ve found plenty of info on how to fix that. The problem I’d like help with is that it’s also not getting any power to it – and after three hours of searching online, I’ve found no information about that. (We only know that pixels are missing by looking at the SID in direct sunlight.)

Her mechanic momentarily swapped in a new SID (tested good in another car), but it too would not display anything. To me, this suggests a problem with the harness (and not, for instance, the LCD bulbs). So where do I start tracing the fault? I am handy with a multimeter; what I would need is the proper schematic or such. I read people going on about “the WIS” – what is that, the service manual? (What does WIS stand for?) If I have to replace the whole SID harness (loom), how tricky is it to thread behind the dash? Any hints or tips on this problem?

Note: The difficulty in searching on any variation of “SID wiring” is that many different problems mention the SID and wires or harnesses or such. It’s like searching for a needle in a stack of needles.
