Default Saab 9-5 2005 Arc ( mark rexroat )

I have an ac / heater blower motor questions for the automatic control system. I'm at a loss on this issue.

1- before when I set the temperature to LO setting the blower motor would seem to blow faster than just when set on the highest fan speed setting .

2- the highest voltage to the blower motor is 12V and it steps down from there.

3- no errors when testing by way of pressing auto and off simultaneously.

4- Does the resistor step up the voltage when set to LO ?

I've replace the motor and still have the same air flow also changed the cabin air filter.

thanks for your help to this matter.

The resistor should step down the voltage for low speed. Seems the resistor could be bad giving steady 12 power. Could check wiring and remove and check resistor. It's Rating should be marked on it.

If the resistor checks ok and seems to be if voltage gets lower when selected it might be in the controller itself . Had a 900 SE with that system but it seemed to work properly. I know this does not seem like a simple fix but if you could find a used ACC from a disassembled car you could test it. Mine had a air distribution problem when selected and was sticking in position and never would come up in test. It eventually freed itself and worked fine. Just an idea. Sorry could not be of more help.
